WHAT IS A FIBER OPTIC TERMINAL BOX?

Fiber Access Terminal is a terminal connector of an optical cable, one end of which is an optical cable, and the other end is a pigtail, which is equivalent to a device that splits an optical cable into a single optical fiber. It is a user optical cable terminal box installed on the wall. Its function is to provide Fusion splicing of optical fibers and optical fibers, fusion splicing of optical fibers and pigtails, and handover of optical connectors. It also provides mechanical protection and environmental protection for the fiber and its components, and allows for proper inspection to maintain the highest standards of fiber management.

Optical cable terminal boxes can be divided into wall-mounted (desktop), embedded, pull-out, rack-mounted and so on.

  1. Rack-mount fiber optic terminal box:

Rack-mounted fiber optic terminal boxes are generally installed in standard network cabinets. The specified dimensions are the width (48.26cm=19 inches) and height (multiples of 4.445cm) inside the network cabinet. Racks that meet this requirement are sometimes referred to as "19-inch racks" because they are 19 inches wide. The thickness is based on 4.445cm. 1U is 4.445cm, 2U is 2 times of 1U is 8.89cm. 2. Desktop fiber optic terminal box:

Desktop optical cable terminal box, that is, it can be placed on the desktop, at the bottom of the cabinet or hung on the wall

  4. Pull-out fiber optic terminal box

The pull-out fiber optic terminal box can protect the jumper from being broken, which is similar to the characteristics of ODF, but it is much more convenient for multiple optical cables to enter the fusion splicing than ODF.
