For fiber optic splice boxes, many people only know that it can be used in indoor and outdoor environments, so what is its function? Then the Fiber Optic Splice Closure manufacturer will briefly introduce the function of the fiber splice box.
The fiber optic splice closure has a good waterproof seal and its outer casing protects the stripped fiber optic cable and fiber optic connector from the environment.
In a typical wall-mounted splice closure, the cable is supported by a cable tie and the cable strength member is securely attached to the support of the outer casing. Metal strength members must be securely grounded.
The cable jacket (sheath) stops at the cable tie of the connector box. The fiber optic tube, a separate tight-buffered fiber or pigtail, is supported by the tube carrier and continues to be connected to the splice tray.
A single fiber should not be exposed outside the splice tray. The fusion splice includes a fusion splice or a mechanical fiber optic cable connector.
